Steelers Not Taking Jets Lightly

The New York Jets may only have one win but the Steelers say the Jets are not to be taken lightly.  Players following practice on Wednesday said that the Jets are a couple of plays away from a much different season.  The Jets did make a change at quarterback, replacing an ineffective Chad Pennington with Kellen Clemmons.  The Steelers don’t have a problem at quarterback.  In fact, Ben Roethlisberger was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in this past Sunday’s win over the Cleveland Browns.  Roethlisberger completed 23-of-34 passes for 278 yards, two touchdowns passing and a 30-yard rushing touchdown.  The Steelers promoted cornerback Grant Mason from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.  Mason replaces safety Ryan Clark, who was placed on injured reserve because of an inflamed spleen.  Wideout Hines Ward, offensive tackle Marvell Smith, linebacker LaMarr Woodley (hamstring) and running back Willie Parker (hip) did not practice yesterday.
