Not that there was ever much doubt, the but Alan Faneca decade of dominance on the Steelers O-line officially came to a halt on Saturday evening as the lineman agreed a mega-sized deal with the Jets that will reportedly pay him $8 mil per season for five seasons.  Faneca’s agent, Rick Smith, told the AP Saturday that Faneca would be in NYC on Sunday, take a physical, and then sign the deal on Monday.

The signing is bittersweet in so many ways for Steelers fans, as they watch one of their favorite and best linemen in the past two decades bolt due to the all mighty dollar.  Not that the Steelers were ever even close to being in a position to paying Faneca that much, it is still tough to watch him go.  Not only that, it will for sure be tough to replace him on a line that was so banged up at the end of the season, Ben Roethlisberger seemed to be running for his life on half of the downs he took snaps for.  Good luck Alan, you will be sorely missed.
