Mark,

I would like Ben to be our QB, but he just hasn't been doing that consistently.

Am I the only person who thinks that Ben seems to be 'over-analyzing' his own abilities?

He appears to be second-guessing what he thinks he should do or maybe he just doesn't have the IQ to be a great QB?

Does anyone have Kordell's number???

Hey Scott. Scott, I have to admit that the Steelers looked liked they didnt miss Ben last night. I must stress, last night. There are 8 more games to play and Ben is our QB. Leftwich played well and hopefully he continues to play well. There is a reason though that he lost his job in Jax and was cut by Atlanta, I believe. The Steelers can win some games without Ben, but I dont think they can win most games without him. Your right about the injury, if Ben is really hurt then you must go with your best back-up. I hope Dennis Dixon is loosening up too. He is 1 play away from driving the car.
Good point about Arians though, We all know Ben is trying to do too much. Will Arians strip down the playbook?

Mark,

Did the Steelers' Offense look like they missed Ben? I don't think so.

Can they win without him? Yes.

Leftwich proved he can step in and do a fine job. Now, defensive coordinators will have to go back and rethink their game plans.

A positive that comes with Ben's injury is that now we will be able to see if:

1. Arians play calling is the major problem,

and/or

2. Ben isn't the quarterback we all hoped he would be. He is a good quarterback, but in my humble opinion, he isn't a $107M quarterback.

If Ben is legitimately hurt, then so be it, he should swallow his pride and let someone start who can make the plays and help the team win.

Last night the Steelers showed the world what they are capable of...too bad the offense couldn't do that against the Giants; they didn't and the Giants were given a 'W'.

In closing, game balls for the whole defensive squad!

Well, lets look at the positives. Defense is ridiculous,Leftwich looked very poised and confident, Willie is back.
Negatives have to be the O-line, Bens pocket presence, Bens injury.
Seriously guys, I like Leftwich and he did a great job last night but I dont think Im going out on a limb by asking, " can we win consistanly or win BIG games with a tough schedule without Ben?" I really think that sitting Ben for a week or 2 isnt going to kill the Steelers, but longer then that could prove VERY problematic. The Colts and Chargers can certainly be beaten, especially in Pittsburgh with the way our D is playing and if Leftwich keeps the ship afloat. Its down the stretch I worry about.
Who knows guys, maybe this is our version of Hostetler filling in for Simms? Just wishful thinking!!
