Who Do You Want to See The Steelers Play Next Sunday?

It’s an odd weekend, as instead of getting ready for three hours of Steelers football, the team and its fans are going to sit back, watch some football, and wait to see who they will play next Sunday at home in the AFC Divisional round. There are three teams on the plate that the Steelers can play next Sunday, and here is the three with a quick breakdown:

1. Miami – The number three seed hosts the wild card Ravens in the early game on Sunday. They have a solid running game, and are known for their trickery with the “wildcat” offense. Their defense is okay, and Joey Porter is a play-maker that is playing as well as maybe the 2005 season when he was on a mission for the Steelers. Chad Pennington is the NFL Comeback Player for the year, and even though this is the team I would want to play next week, the Steelers can’t underestimate them.

2. San Diego – They will come into Pittsburgh on a high if they beat the Colts, and they gave the Steelers a tough game back in November that the Steelers survived 11-10. There were a ton of flags in that game on the Steelers, and there is no doubt that with L.T. and Antonio Gates ailing, this time around the Steelers would be much more favored to take care of business. With that said, the Chargers will have that confidence of already having played the Steelers to the wire before.

3. Indianapolis
– This is the team that no one wants to seem to play, and for very good reasons. Peyton Manning is the NFL MVP, and with 10 straight wins should they beat the Chargers Satruday night, they will be the hottest team in the playoffs if they make it to round two. They already beat the Steelers once, albeit with some luck on tipped passes and a great goal-line stance, but this is a team that you don’t want to have to see till the AFC Title game – if at all.

So in the end, I would love to see the Dolphins here, as they are the easiest road to the AFC Title game. The Colts would be the toughest test, but hey, you play who’s on the schedule, and we’ll know who it is by Sunday about 5pm. Who do you want to see the Steelers play? Leave a comment and we’ll post some of the responses on Sunday.

ALl of these teams would be coming to Pirrsburgh on a “high”, having won the previous week. On reputation alone the Colts seem to be the toughest,The Dolphins are only “easy” if you go by last year, and the Chargers are not only HOT but always give the Steelers a tough time. (1982,1995 playoffs and this years game included). I would have to say that beating the Colts would give the Steelers a mental edge going into the Championship game, but the team that the Steelers SHOULD want to play in the 1st round would be the Dolphins.I personally dont trust playing the Chargers. Rivers is a punk, they played the Steelers hard 2 months ago, and if they beat the Colts they will be soaring and looking for revenge. Believe me guys, this is not fright im talking through, Im talking about lining up 11 on 11 and emotion is a huge part of that. The Chargers would be a very tough game. The Colts would bring Manning and the rest, but the Steelers would take them VERY seriously and be forced to play a great game.

If we play Miami, GREAT. I would have a lot more confidence that the Steelers could wn. They’ve beaten the Colts before on the road to the Super Bowl, albeit with the legendary Bus. Even though the Colts have Peyton Manning, the League MVP, the Steelers historically do not let a team beat them twice (nevermind Jacksonville in 2007). All-in-all, I would prefer to see the Steelers play Miami in the divisional game and the Colts in the AFC Championship. “Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'” NO RAVENS.

How about that? We did play the Ravens, won the AFC Championship and went on to get the SIX-PACK! Woo-hoo! GO STEELERS!

This goes out to ANY TEAM that plays OUR Guys! If you do not RESPECT them in any way: Do NOT worry about them tossing you around like rag dolls: worry about the women in their lives and the rest of us out there that love and adore them because of the MEN they truly are: we will kick your butts without messing up our make-up in stilettos and not think twice about sending you straight back where you came from to have your parents wipe your tears!
