While Nate Washington is gone, the Steelers are looking to try and bring back cornerback Bryant McFadden, who is on the open market as an unrestricted free agent. McFadden has spoken to the Cardinals, but reports say that the Steelers are talking to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, about coming back to the Steel City.
Word is that McFadden would be a starter with the Cards, starting opposite cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Of couse he’d be that as well in Pittsburgh, starting on the other side of Ike Taylor. McFadden is the best free agent corner on the market, and likely will be given an offer in some way shape or form from some team.
The market for corners has been crazy so far early in free agency, as Atlanta’s Domonique Foxworth received a four-year, $28 million deal with the Baltimore Ravens and Andre Goodman left the Miami Dolphins to sign a five-year, $25 million contract with the Denver Broncos. That means McFadden is going to be rich somewhere probably by the end of the week.

I would like to see him back, as I am sure all Steeler fans would. He is solid, young, very good and now has 2 Super bowl wins on his resume. Bringing him back keeps the Steelers from using a precious draft pick on a corner.

I totally agree..The only caveat (sp?) to that wold be that if we did draft a corner, at least we’re getting younger on Defense.

Yeah Jay, but I think they need to get younger on the defensive line first. With Gay and Taylor along with Mcfadden I think they are young enough at corner.I think the Steelers are going to and want to draft on the defensive and offensive lines early on in the draft.Maybe an impact DE or a Tackle with the 1st and 2nd picks

I hope that’s the route they go….OL and DE/DT.
