Could Foote Still End Up Being a Cap Cut?

Ed Bouchette did his final draft chat today as the draft continues to close in for all 32 NFL teams. One interesting thing that came out of the chat was a quote from Ed about the future of linebacker Larry Foote. The question came up about the salary cap and who may have to take a hit, and Foote could be one player that does not make it due to the team needing money.

Mike Tomlin is on record as saying he wants to keep Foote, but when push comes to cap, something has to give.

Foote’s name keeps coming up as a player that could not be around come opening day, as Lawrence Timmons showed the team a lot at the end of last year, and could be plugged in to Foote’s spot. It’ll be a tough decision to let Foote go, but one that the team might just have to make.

  1. Jay says:

At least get something for him for *&%#’s sake on draft day like another pick and maybe we can move up or down depending on the situation.
