Sunday’s game at Heinz Field is littered with stars on both sides of the ball, but one player that has become a key in the Vikings offense the past two weeks is tight end Visanthe Shiancoe. The 7-year pro has 17 catches on the season, but a team high 5 touchdowns, which means he’s a player that Brett Favre will look for all day – more so in the red zone.
That means it’s going to be key for Steelers third-year LB Lawrence Timmons to step up and have a big game shutting down Shiancoe. He’s a solid player in coverage, and knowing that 8 of Shiancoe’s 17 catches and three of his five scores have come in the last two Vikings wins, Dick LeBeau has to stress shutting down the Vikings improving tight end.
