If they are polling players about who is dirty and Ward is mentioned as being as such, the NFL is getting what they want. QB's are overly protected,but"playing within the rules players" like Ward are going to be scrutinized until the NFL uses this information to change the rules again. It might as well be "flag football". Lets condone drug use, animal cruelty,woman/wife abuse,pain-in-the-ass players (T.O,L.J,B.M), but lets punish clean players with fines even when they do NOT get flagged on particular plays. Hines Ward is one of the FEW wide receivers who actually PLAY the game the way it's supposed to be played! Hell, if Ward WANTED to do a dirty hit he would have hit Rivers in the knee's but even Ward HIMSELF has said that he would NEVER make a hit like that which could end a player's career.
