This has more to do with money than actual performance. Tomlin used a #2 pick on this guy in 2008 (perceived at the time as a steal) and is obligated to vindicate the pick, if he can. Otherwise, Sweed will become a very expensive mistake, along with lightly regarded Tony Hills and the now departed Bruce Davis and Mike Humpal from the 2008 Draft.

Sweed does have size and lots of potential. But right now, Shaun McDonald (the top receiver at Detroit before joining the Steelers) is a better receiver than Sweed, and he has yet to be given a decent chance on the field. If Tomlin wants to rebuild Sweed's confidence, the Denver game seems a strange venue to choose. To beat Denver, we're going to need everyone's A-game -- and Sweed doesn't have one.

Here we go again. Should we say "decoy"? What are the odds Ben actually throws his way more than twice? Unless #14 makes a HUGE catch somewhere in this game,He wont be dressed again. For Gods sake, if they need another WR call Marvin Harrison.
