Dixon Officially Named the Starter for Tomorrow Night

Eagles Steelers Football
Steelers.com reports that the team has officially named Dennis Dixon as the starter tomorrow night vs the Ravens:

Dennis Dixon will start at quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers when they face the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night at M&T Bank Stadium. The decision to start Dixon, a second-year pro from Oregon who was the team’s fifth-round draft choice in 2008, was made by Coach Mike Tomlin in the aftermath of a game in Kansas City in which Ben Roethlisberger and Charlie Batch were injured. Roethlisberger took a blow to the head in overtime, and then Batch broke a bone in his left wrist during a game the Steelers would lose, 27-24, in overtime.

Matt Loede has been in the sports media for over 16 years, with experience covering the MLB, NBA, and NFL. On Sunday’s during football season, you can hear Matt on national networks like Fox Sports Radio, Associated Press, and others. Born and raised in Cleveland Ohio, Matt studies and talks football inside and out, and is anxious to share his thoughts and comments with readers on a daily basis.

I am really disappointed in the boys this year. We have a kicker that can’t tackle. Our Secondary is giving up too many mid yardage plays. Defensive Line is as good as always. Great job by Dennis to keep the game close last week.Offensive line giving good protection. We are getting beat by too many crappy teams like Oakland and DA Bears and KC. They better figure out what is going on and fix it. Looks like they will have to win out the rest of the way to have even a slim chance of making the playoffs. Go Black and Gold.
