Now that the Steelers are 8-7 and still alive, many are asking that million dollar question – what has to happen for the Steelers to make the playoffs?
As far as I can tell, here’s what has to happen after the Jets won, Texans won, Jags lost, and Broncos lost today:
FOR THE 5TH SEED
1) Steelers beat Miami.
2) Houston loses at home to New Engalnd.
3) Jets lose to Cincy at home and Baltimore loses to the Raiders in Oakland.
FOR THE 6TH SEED:
1) Steelers beat Miami.
2) Houston loses to the Pats at home.
3) Jets lose to the Bengals at home. (Baltimore 5th seed, Pittsburgh 6th)
So while the Steelers have to take care of business in South Florida next week, they will be scoreboard watching as they have to root for two teams they really hate – the Bengals and Patriots.

what about ravens and broncos??
that is what i was wondering
i know that the steelers have the head to head over broncos
The Jets are getting a lot of breaks. The Colts mailed it in this week and now they play the Bengals in NY. I can see the Begirls losing just to spite us. Hopefully the west coast trip will hurt the Ravens. Although Al Davis may forfeit the game just to stick it to the Steelers and the Rooney’s. he is crazy enough to do it.
Hey mike are u done having your period yet? hahahahahahahaha
1st Pittsburgh has to win.
2nd Any of the following has to happen:
Balt, Houston lose
Jets, Houston lose
Jets, Balt lose
-If the Jets and Balt win, they are in.
-Houston holds the tiebreaker over Pitt with a better record against common opponents. They beat Cincy and I think Oakland (Maybe KC).
-Pitt does hold the tiebreaker over Denver, but I am not sure about if Balt and Jets lose, Denver, Pitt, and Houston win, who would go. This is very confusing. Just hope Pitt wins and everyone else loses. Then they are in for sure!!!
