Another cornerback is going to be on the market when free agency kicks off Friday, that being current Jets CB Lito Sheppard. Word is that Sheppard and RB Thomas Jones will both be released, meaning that both will be going to any team they choose.

So Sheppard is going to be available, and of course we all know that the Steelers could use a corner. So what do you think about Sheppard? He’s 28 years old, and has been with two teams, the Eagles and the Jets. In 104 career games he has 19 career picks with 3 touchdowns.

At 5′10, 194 pounds, he is a guy that could probably come right in and at worst be a backup. Question is what will his asking price be? I can’t believe the Steelers are not going to seriously take a long look at corners, and Sheppard is a guy that could be an asset to this team. Thoughts Steeler Nation?
