A wild day of collecting turnovers for the Steelers


14:37 1st Quarter – Marc Mariani fumbles on kickoff, Keyaron Fox recovers at Titans 46.

Outcome – Dennis Dixon hit and fumbled three plays later from the Titans 42, which then led eventually to a Tennessee field goal.

5:45 1st Quarter – Troy Polamalu intercepts Vince Young in the end zone for a touchback.

Outcome – Polamalu’s pick stopped a Titans drive that could have put them ahead as Polamalu records his second pick of the season.

8:28 2nd Quarter – LaMarr Woodley picks off a Vince Young pass at the Steelers 42.

Outcome – The Steelers stop another Titans drive with a big pick from Woodley, but can not take advantage of it, despite driving to the Titans 38 then punting.

1:36 2nd Quarter – Chris Johnson goes up the middle for no gain, but loses the ball on the way down, and James Harrison recovers the fumble.

Outcome – The team takes it down to the final play of the half, and go 7 yards before they settle for a Jeff Reed 34-yard field goal to make it 13-3 Steelers at the half.

4:49 3rd Quarter – Vince Young sack and strip by Harrison, just called up Steve McLendon recovers the fumble.

Outcome – It’s the last play for Young, who is pulled for Kerry Collins. The Steelers drive from the Titans 35 to the 10, and Jeff Reed hits another field goal to make it 16-3.

12:58 4th Quarter – Bryant McFadden picks off Collins on a long pass to the right at the Steelers 46. The play was a 3rd and 20 for the Titans.

Outcome –The Steelers, at this point happy to just run clock up 13, run three plays and then punt.

6:32 4th Quarter – Collins sacked by Woodley, and Chris Hoke comes up with the fumble at the Titans 15 yard line.

Outcome – Three plays later Jeff Reed kicks his fourth field goal to make it 19-3 as the team eventually hangs on for a 19-11 win.
