Five questions with TitansGab Editor Matt Gallardo

1. What player means more to the Titans right now – Chris Johnson or Vince Young – Why?

Even though there has been a lot of pressure put on Vince Young to succeed early this season, I do not think the Titans would have close to the same amount of success if it weren’t for Chris Johnson. What he is able to do on any given play makes the Titans offense explosive. The Titans do not need to have a deep option in order to score, because Chris Johnson can take any run the distance.

2. What kind of season do you expect from former Steeler WR Nate Washington? He had a big catch Sunday vs the Raiders, is that a sign of things to come for him?

Nate was always a player that could make plays in Pittsburgh. He always seemed to be the player that Ben Roethlisberger would look for as he was scrambling out of the pocket. With Vince Young at quarterback, you can guarantee that Vince will be moving around the pocket and that Nate will move around downfield to help his quarterback make a play.

3. The defense has been kind of revamped the past few seasons, what player should the Steelers fear the most Sunday on that side of the ball?

I would say the most feared player on the Titans defense will be Jason Babin. He had a sack in week one and is has become a force on the Titans defense. The Steelers often struggle against strong defensive ends, and I think he will have a big game today against the Steelers.

4. Could this team really make a move to bring Albert Haynesworth back? Why?

I think the media hype surrounding Haynesworth will eventually subside and he will stay with Washington. The drama that has surrounded their camp and troubles that he has seen have been written about to exhaustion, but I think the end result will be the same. The Titans defense looked stellar in week one, and if they can continue that way, I don’t see a need to bring in all of the media attention.

5. What is your prediction for the Titans this season? Are they a playoff team?

I think the Titans will have a great season this year, however, there is a great deal of talent in the AFC South with the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans. I feel that both of these teams will make the playoffs and will make it very difficult for the Titans to make the playoffs. My prediction for the season will by 10-6, but I don’t think that will be enough for them to make the playoffs in the AFC.

6. Prediction for the Steelers-Titans Game with score

17-13 Titans. The defense of the Titans will put pressure on Dennis Dixon the entire game. Dixon has not seen pressure like this since last years game against Baltimore, in a game he struggled in. However, I think Chris Johnson will have a “mediocre” game for his standards. He will likely break 100 yards rushing, but will have a tough time finding running room against the tough Steelers linebackers.
