Roethlisberger Hurts Leg; Leaves Game Leading 7-3

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger has left the Thursday night affair with an ugly leg injury with the Steelers leading the Browns 7-3.

Roethlisberger’s leg got pinned under by Browns DL Scott Paxon on a sack after he tried to extend the play. He laid on the field for awhile, and eventually had to be helped to the locker room by Steelers trainers.

The NFL Network cameras showed Roethlisberger being helped to the locker room, clearly avoiding putting weight on his leg and clearly in pain.

Roethlisberger was replaced by backup Charlie Batch.

Way to run the ball today Arians. You may have just lost your quarterback, congratulations on being an incompetent coordinator. Those two turnovers in the redzone are really hurting now.

Does Harrison get suspended for his hit on McCoy? Or does he receive a record setting fine?

Ben Roethlisbergers performance today was nothing short of brilliant tonight. Before his injury, he completed 8 of 9 and then after his injury he finished the game 17-22. If Ben needed to prove to anyone else about his toughness then mission accomplished.

The defense came to play again today sacking McCoy three times today, and if it wasn’t for some remarkable elusiveness, the sack total would have been higher. The Steelers were robbed of an interception late in the game, but still finished with two INTs. I need to commend William Gay for is much improved play from last season to this season. Despite what George H believes, I believe he is slowly becoming a legitimate cornerback in the NFL. It is pretty incredible this “old” defense has only let off one touchdown in three games. However I will be the first to admit that this defense is a far cry from last years defense. It now appears at times the offense needs to bail out the defense, and as years past was the opposite having the defense win games

There was so many aspects of this game that would infuriate a Steelers fan. The Offensive line nearly gave the game away today. Kemeatou needs to be cut immediately after tonight. Third down penalties were a killer for us tonight. Everytime we completed a big play, it was negated due to another penalty. Along with the penalties, the offensive line had absolutely no push on the goalline, stuffing Mendenhall four times! It is beyond me why Redman was not in the game during that series. Our redzone play was absolutely putrid today! Two fumbles in the first half, which would have inevitably led to points, which would have ended the game in the first half. And then there would have been no need for Ben to return in the second half and risk further injury.

10-3 heading into San Francisco with a shot at the division title should be looking good to Steelers Nation.
