Mike Tolbert Inks with the Panthers

If the Steelers did have interest in free agent running back Mike Tolbert, that dream is over as word is he has come to terms with the Carolina Panthers.

Tolbert has 341 carries for 1,410 yards and 20 touchdowns with 109 receptions for 1,012 yards and six touchdowns in 59 games over the last four seasons with the Chargers.

There was talk over the weekend that the Steelers were one of the front runners for Tolbert, along with the Panthers. Now the black and gold will go back to having an injured Rashard Mendenhall and trying to make sure they lock up Issac Redmen.

Matt Loede has been in the sports media for over 16 years, with experience covering the MLB, NBA, and NFL. On Sunday’s during football season, you can hear Matt on national networks like Fox Sports Radio, Associated Press, and others. Born and raised in Cleveland Ohio, Matt studies and talks football inside and out, and is anxious to share his thoughts and comments with readers on a daily basis.

Ouch! BUT…Ben Tate (hou) would be an even better choice to go after…if still available/affordable) Snatching one away from the Browns radar is always an added biscuit too!
