Roethlisberger Releases Statement Admitting Mistake About Bills Turf

Ben Roethlisberger was flat out ticked off after watching his new guard, David DeCastro go down in a heap in Buffalo over the weekend.

The QB blamed the injury on FieldTurf, but now after realizing that the Bills Stadium, has A-Turf Titan, not FieldTurf, he’s released a statement stating “whoops, my bad.”

“In my postgame interview on Saturday, when asked about the knee injury David DeCastro suffered, I mistakenly referred to the artificial grass in Buffalo as FieldTurf,” Roethlisberger said in a statement on his own website. “My intention was only to say I believe real grass is the safest surface for football, and allows some knee injuries to be avoided. I was really bothered by David’s injury in that moment, and can only wish him the best now in his recovery.”

Lucky for Ben he wasn’t around when the Steelers played at Three Rivers, a place where a number of players (Rod Woodson) suffered injuries on the turf at the old stadium.

Once played on the old Pitt Stadium Astro turf – also known as concrete. I don’t know how anybody survived those days…
