Steelers Name 2012 Captains – One Each for Offense and Defense

The Steelers Monday went a little outside the box as far as naming captains, as the team named only two captains today, and no special teams captain.

On offense, the team went with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. On defense, the captain is veteran Brett Keisel.

No word as to why the team went with just two captains entering 2012, and as to why no special teams captain was named.
