Polamalu’s Calf Feels Better; Hopes to Play Next Week vs Eagles

While it seems like James Harrison is not getting any better with his knee injury, on the good news front, it appears that safety Troy Polamalu is.

“It feels much better,” Polamalu said in today’s Post-Gazette about his hurting calf that has kept him out of the last two games.

Polamal has taken the practice field this week, and says he’s “optimistic” he will play when the Steelers are back in action a week from tomorrow at home vs the Eagles.

One person that wants to see Polamalu out there as much as anyone is defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau, who can place the high-flyer anywhere on the field at any time.

“Any of those close games, a play here, a play there, make a difference,” LeBeau said. “We got to be the ones making those plays, which, in the two losses, we weren’t.”

With Polamalu on the field, there’s no doubt that he can make one of those plays that could in the end make the difference between a win and a loss.
