Game Day Open Thread: Giants At Steelers

The preseason is about 30 minutes away for the Black and Gold, as they host Eli Manning and the New York Giants at Heinz Field.

Stay tuned too Steelers Gab all night, as we will have game updates, photos, tweets, commentary, and more!

And Away we go!!!

Right away our first SMH of the night, as rookie RB Le’Veon Bell is not going to play.

Now being told it’s a ‘sore left knee’ that will keep Bell sidelined for tonight.

Mike Tomlin tells those reporters on hand that he will evaluate Bell throughout the rest of the preseason. No real cause for concern about the knee.

Isaac Redmen starts at running back, early five-yard carry. Nice 3rd down flair out to FB Will Johnson for 9 yardsa and a first down.

Pressure on Eli, but secondary fell asleep, and 56 yards later the Giants take a 10-3 lead. Clark and Polamalu look bad falling over each other.

Bruce Gradkowski’s first pass as a Steeler a play action flair out to Will Johnson for about 8 yards.

#Steelers outgained #Giants 93-80 in quarter, and had 6 first downs to two for NYG.

#Steelers had 56 yards rushing in the quarter, putting up 5.1 yards per carry on 11 rushes.

Rookie WR Markus Wheaton nearly had a nice catch along the sideline, ruled no catch after a review by the officials.

Jarvis Jones gets his first turnover of his career, a gift but the young man will take it!

Starting TE David Paulson with a nice catch and run to get 13 back on 3rd and 15

Way to be aware, as Gradkowski runs out of a blitz up the middle for a first down

Butler booms it – problem is it goes into the end zone, so a 55-yard punt nets just 35 yards
