Steelers Place WR Plaxico Burress On IR, Ending His Season

The season is now officially over for Steelers WR Plaxico Burress, as today the Steelers announced he’s been placed on the season-ending injured reserve.

It was not a very Happy Birthday for Burress, who turned 36 on Monday, the same day he underwent surgery for a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder.

Burress was drafted by the Steelers in 2000 and in his career 553 passes for 8,499 yards and 64 touchdowns in the regular season with the Steelers, Giants and Jets.

He played three games for Pittsburgh last season.
