What The Titans Are Saying About Sunday Vs The Steelers

Cornerback Alterraun Verner: ”This is a very big game, I almost want to say it’s a must-win for the first game of the season. I think it’s a must-win for us to take that step to try to compete and try to be contenders through the end of the year.”

Safety Michael Griffin: ”Our backs are against the wall, we keep saying over and over again, but you know when your head coach is under a one-year deal, it basically puts the whole team under a one-year deal no matter what your contract may say.”

Head coach Mike Munchak: ”We all know how important it is to come out of here, and it’s going to be a challenge. These are two great teams we have to play back to back (Pittsburgh and ). We’ll find out what we’re all about before we come back home.”

Munchak On Steelers Pre-snap movement on D: “You just have to have confidence in what you’re doing and feel comfortable that they’re going to do a lot of things, show one thing and do another, just like most teams do, but we’ll be fine. That’s not something that would concern us, but we’ve just got to believe in what we do and go out and do it.”

Safety Bernard Pollard: ”Nashville, the state of Tennessee has been yearning for a team to win, and I think this year is the time.”

QB Jake Locker on Steelers D: “What stands out is how well they play together, their communication, without having to talk, their comfort with the guy next to them. They understand and know the rules of their defense so well and you can see it when you watch film. They’re all on the same page always and they play as a unit really well.”

Locker on Steelers 3-4 D: “You saw more of it in college, but they do such a good job with the 3-4 front that the guys they’re dropping out are linebackers and they’re good in space and play the pass well, so I think you see it a little more from them than other teams in the NFL.”
