Look Back: Steelers Win Mud Battle With Dolphins In 2007

ward2007

It was a messy Monday night in 2007 the last time the Dolphins made their way to Heinz Field, as the Steelers won the lowest scoring game in Monday night history, beating the Fins 3-0.

Now we take a look back at that game with our game story from that night of mud, wetness and poor play between two AFC clubs.

It may not have been the beating the Steelers and their fans wanted over a team that had not yet won a game this season, but based on the field conditions and what happened last week – the black and gold will take it.

In a game where the Steelers could ill afford to lose after last weeks setback against the Jets, they did what they had to do on their final drive to kick a Jeff Reed chip shot 24-yard field goal to earn them their 8th win against three losses in an ugly 3-0 victory.

The field conditions in Pittsburgh were possibly the worst in years. The sod that was placed down a few days ago was a mess due to the rain that hit the Western PA area throughout Sunday and Monday.
