Schefter Confirms That Tomlin Isn’t Leaving Steelers For Texas

Earlier this week there was a story that Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was on a short list as a possible replacement for Mack Brown at Texas.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter said today on the pregame that Tomlin has no interest and he will be with the Steelers for a long time to come.

Chip Brown, who is a writer for Orange Bloods and SiriusXM radio host is the one that put Tomlin on the list. He also mentioned is that of Urban Meyer, Jim Harbaugh and David Shaw as possible replacements.

It’s not a surprise at all that Tomlin wouldn’t want to leave the Steelers. Despite some fans that feel he’s been a big part of the issue this and last season, he still can flash a Super Bowl ring and has been successful as a coach since joining the team in 2007.

With the way that the Rooney family does business, it would take a lot more than two down seasons for them to dump Tomlin.

In other words, like it or not, Tomlin’s here for a long time to come.
