Six highlights from Tomlin, Colbert pre-draft press conference

 3. DEPTH OF THE 2014 NFL DRAFT

Both Kevin Colbert and Mike Tomlin agreed in the Monday press conference that the 2014 NFL Draft is full of young, eager players. “It is deep,” said Colbert. “We are excited about it.”

Colbert outlined the positions that he and Tomlin agree have more depth than others:

Running backs – Deep

Quarterbacks – “It may lack a marquee guy and it may not,” said Colbert.

Receivers – “We think that’s a great position. They come in all shapes and sizes, big, small and return capable,” said Colbert.

Interior offensive linemen – Not as good in depth as usual, but quality better than has been.

Tackles – Good

Cornerbacks – “Solid”

Outside Linebackers – Very good

Middle Linebackers – “Not deep but good quality”

Defensive Line – Deep
