First of all you idiots he’s not a reach at fifteen, he was ranked by Walter Football as the 11th best player in the draft and rising…furthermore he’s fast which means that since 70% of opponents’ offenses happen between the hashes ( look it up), we now have speed up the middle—shamarko Thomas, Sean spence if he plays, mike Mitchell, and now this kid means it should be harder for opposing teams to work that 70% of the field.

We may need CB and WR but the Steelers have already said they’d go after the players they want despite what is trending by mock drafts.

He’s a great player, but its a bad pick. This is a huge do or die draft for us, we need to hit and hit squarely with every single pick. Especially seeing as we didn’t really address our needs in FA.
We have severe needs at WR and DL and big depth concerns at CB (not to mention Ike taylor getting old) Realistically we can get good quality in the 2nd at D line and corner if a couple of guys fall but once we’re into the 3rd round the receiver class is gonna be bled dry, this isnt a particularly deep draft for linemen especially 3-4 linemen and there are very few corners worth talking about that will make it to our pick in the 2nd. So pretty much whatever we do we’re probably gonna have gaping holes at 2 of those positions. Shazier was a luxury pick we didnt need. We already signed arthur moats, vince williams showed a lot of potential, we didnt need an ILB, we most certainly shouldnt have used a 1st round pick on one. The smart move would have been to trade down to the bottom of the first pick up an extra second, pick up a D lineman at the bottom of the first or Pierre Desir and sort out the rest of our needs in the 2nd.

    Absolutely fucking maddening.

This kid is for real. You don’t draft for need, you draft the best available player, which is exactly what the Steelers did. We drafted a linebacker who will help tremendously in rounding out our line backing core. We have 4 solid guys there now. You should all know that the key to any Steelers defense is it’s linebackers! I’m hoping we get a corner or defensive tackle in the second round.
