Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell Responds to Fan on Instagram: “I’m Not Going to Miss Games”

Le'Veon Bell

Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell has taken a ton of heat (rightfully so) over the weekend since it was announced that he was going to miss four games due to a suspension for missing drug tests by the NFL.

Bell has been getting slammed on social media, but took to Instagram and gave a rather interesting comment that might give Steelers fans hope that he won’t miss a quarter of the regular season.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reported on the comment by Bell, who was answering to a fan who posted a picture with a gas mask bong superimposed on Bell’s head.

Bell responded from his verified account: “I’m not going to miss games, trust me.” This was not an official statement issued by Bell, whose agent, Adisa Bakari, has not responded to messages for comment.

According to the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement, a player can miss up to two drug tests without forfeiting games, but a third missed test triggers a four-game ban. The second missed test results in a fine of two game checks, but not the ability to play in those games.

“I’m gonna win the appeal…ppl have no idea what happened, but don’t worry…let em hate,” Bell wrote directly to a fan. “When I end up missin no games at all, ppl for sure gonna try to love me again and I’m only ridin with my LOYAL fans!!”

It’s interesting that Bell is making such strong comments about the situation, stating that he will not miss any games, and must somehow feel he has an ace in the hole that is going to get him off the hook with the NFL.

As Fowler pointed out, Bell hasn’t made any official comment to the media yet, but when he does, hopefully he can clarify just how he feels he won’t miss any games in 2016.

This kid is delusional without a doubt . He just doesnt get it . You have already been suspended once . That means youre being watched and being watched closely by the league . If he missed a pre-scheduled drug test , youre going to be suspended , period . Very few appeals are ever overturned and in all likelihood this one wont either . Whats sad , if you listen to his talk and read the body language , he honestly thinks hes done nothing wrong . Im willing to bet his team mates are thinking something entirely different .
