Steelers Gab 2017 Week 14 NFL Preview – Baltimore at Pittsburgh

3. Big Night for Brown

The Ravens suffered a key loss in the win over the Lions last week when their top cornerback Jimmy Smith suffered a season-ending torn Achilles, meaning that the team will have to find another way to cover Steelers wide out Antonio Brown.

Brown had three somewhat sub-par games 7, 8 and 10 (all through were Steelers wins), but the last three weeks he and Big Ben have been on the same page – a lot.

In the last three wins Brown has pulled in 18 catches for 414 yards and six touchdowns. In the last game against the Ravens, Brown had just four catches for 34 yards, his worst game in 2017.

With Smith gone, the Ravens will have to rely on the likes of Brandon Carr and rookie Marlon Humphrey to start on the outside against Brown and Martavis Bryant.

The other two Ravens corners that will see time are youngsters Jaylen Hill and Maurice Canady, two players who haven’t seen the field much at all, and Brown and his mates can have big nights against these four, having big success in the big play department for the Steelers.

Prediction: One aspect of this game that has to scare you is the fact the Steelers just played the most physical game of the season and will come into Sunday night on short rest since that game was on Monday. They will have to play not only a clean game but also makes sure they find a way to get out of Sunday night not suffering any more injuries. Look for the defense to step up and force a couple key Flacco errors, and in the end it will be enough to escape with win number 11, their 8th in a row, setting up a huge game next Sunday with the Pats, a game likely will decide home field in the AFC. So much of the steelers’ MO is just show up and win…it’s pretty arrogant. I liked what I saw in the first quarter being all fired up for Ryan. Now in the third it’s like they’ve forgotten they’re playing for him! The defense is a joke and Sean David shoulda stayed home tonight!

This is ridiculous! The ravens have really no one of consequence on offense, are playing without Marshall hands and with a throw away back that no one wanted and yet are shoving the ball down our useless defense’s throats! Bud-waste-of-a-first-round-draft -pick Dupree does nothing, Mitchell and Davis and burns can’t tackle or cover for that matter and big man tuitt and hRgrave and Heyward are getting eaten up at the point of attack! Really! Just wow! Way to go Tomlin and crew!

Collinsworth just said there’s something different going in with this Steelers team tonight. THEYRE SOFT! They’ve been soft all year on defense not wrapping up, getting cashed for big plays, run on! Come on, man, they are soft!

I guess we don’t have a running back! Throw, throw, throw!

This undisciplined bunch of pukes on defense is losing this game tonight! A shame because it seems like the offense finally has gotten into a rhythm.

This defense is gutless! On a night you’d think they’d play inspired football because of Shazier, they come out and shot the bed, not playing smart, undisciplined. Ridiculous! What a way to squander a great record and now most like kelt won’t even get a first round bye!

Hey Jay , youre the one thats gutless . The Pittsburgh Steelers are 11-2 and currently this morning are AFC North Champions . As usual , instead of celebrating what has become a magical season , you take shots , and trash talk the Steelers as if they were 2-11 instead of 11-2 . That is gutless and proves you dont know your ass from your elbow about the game of football . Oh and by the way , the quarterback by the name of Roethlisberger that you wanted burned at the steak and run out of town , passed for over 500 yards last night . Once again , showing just how ignorant you are . Do everyone on this site a huge favor and move to Cleveland and you can root for the 0-13 Browns . Then , you can bitch till your hearts content .

I don’t know , man I appreciate your sticking up for the team and all but as I watch the game I call it as I see it! Go to another site like Stillers.com and read what steel mill has to say after losses and WINS! I’m not the only (arrogant) fan around, Dave! You taking personal shots at me sort of indicates a lack of maturity and shall we say overzealousness toward the Steelers. They don’t give a rats ass about me and you or what anyone else has to say! Why you gotta act like a bitch and get all offended and your panties in a twirl? Relax, man! I’m happy that Shazier seems happy. My heart (yes I do have one of those) hurts for him and not because his absence hurts our chances. At end of day he a person wit feelings and all and I feel sorry for the dude! Am I somewhat perklempt that he always tackles with his head down? Yes! Did I ever wish anything on him like this? Of course not. And stop talking in the first person plural about this site as if you some collective entity that is the voice of the people. Dude, so my rants are bit over the top and a bit impulsively reactive and impatient! So what! Let people rant and chill the f-cl out!

As of this posting , I will no longer post anything on this site . I ll go the way Dr. George did last year and move on . I started posting on this site several years ago because I was a lifelong Steeler fan and very few sites out there give you the ability to post your opinions and comments the way Steelers Gab does . With that said , this site has turned into something other than football talk and I for one want no part of it . As of today , have at it Jay , its all yours .

I just have a quick question??? Why, in the name of God and unless he’s hurt, has not this team (or any other team in contention with cornerback needs for that matter) looked into Vontae Davis?!?! He has GOT to be better than Sensabaugh! I mean even the chiefs (I know, bad example because they’re crumbling like timber in the northwest) signed revis!
