Unless something big changes, the Steelers appear more than ready to hand the starting center job to first-round pick Maurkice Pouncey, who has had a great camp and seems to be ready to take on the responsibility of being the center for a team expected to challenge for a division title.
We have talked quite a [...]
Casey Hampton (hamstring) is day-to-day; Jonathan Dwyer and Maurkice Pouncey have mild hamstring strains; Chris Scott (foot) is still on PUP, as is Andre Frazier (knee). Ramon Foster missed practice with a concussion he sustained Saturday. He performed well in all the testing Sunday, and he may get some physical exertion Monday that’s not football-oriented.
Tough day for Steelers all over the place, with the season ending injury to Willie Colon, and now the Post-Gazette is reporting that the home of Casey Hampton was robbed while he was Texas last week.
Pittsburgh police are looking for the person who stole three flat screen televisions and other items from the home of [...]
Former NFL OL Ross Tucker is doing some work for SI, and yesterday he spent the day at Steelers camp, and had some interesting notes. Here’s one on Casey Hampton:
Casey Hampton is the keystone of the defense—no matter how much he weighs. Any team that runs a 3-4 knows it all starts with [...]
Two big name starters are entering the final year of their deals for the Steelers – NT Casey Hampton and Safety Ryan Clark. Both are favorites of Dick LeBeau, but so far there’s been nothing to report about a new deal for either of them.

Pats coach Bill Belichick is doing his best to paint a picture that the Steelers defense is unbeatable. “Nobody has gotten 300 yards against them and about half of their possessions are three-and-out,” said Belichick. “They’re really solid across the board. It’s no one-man band. They’re good at everything.” Belichick is the master [...]
