Ben Talks About the New Season and Bouncing Back

Steeler fans didn’t get their first look at the 2007 Steelers at Saint Vincent on Tuesday.  An afternoon thunderstorm with vivid lightning chased the Steelers indoors and and the gathered crowd of several thousand back to their cars.  Before the skies parted, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had his first meeting with the media and said the change in offensive coordinators is a bigger challenge for him than a change in head coaches.  Roethlisberger says that he feels better physically than he ever has at this time of year including his rookie season.

“You can say all you want that you have to prove it to the fans and the media,” Roethlisberger said. “I’m just trying to prove to myself that I can do it and my career’s not over and last year was a fluke. It was a bad year and we still ended up 8-8 with a bad year. So I think we can come out and do better and I can do better.”

Matt Loede has been in the sports media for over 16 years, with experience covering the MLB, NBA, and NFL. On Sunday’s during football season, you can hear Matt on national networks like Fox Sports Radio, Associated Press, and others.
