Steelers as Expected a Bit Banged Up After the AFC Title Win

As expected, the Steelers are a beat up team today after Sunday night’s win over the Ravens. Hines Ward will have an MRI on his knee, but he has already stated he’ll go against the Cardinals. As for Ben Roethlisberger, he has bruised ribs according to Peter King at SI.com. Of course Ben did play the whole game, unlike Hines who was unable to go after the knee injury. “I don’t plan on missing this game, trust me,” Ward said of the Feb. 1 Super Bowl. “Don’t worry about the knee.” “I didn’t want to go out there and hurt our team if I wasn’t 100 percent. I probably could have played at maybe 75 or 80 percent,” Ward said. “I’m going to be ready for the Super Bowl.”

As for Ryan Clark, who had that knockout blow of Ravens RB Willis McGahee, he did walk off the field under his own power, and should be fine for the game in Tampa. It’s just a good thing that the Steelers do have two weeks off to get things healed up. Word from the Steelers media relations is that he team will have a normal week, and practice on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Ok, when isnt Ben banged up? its an old story when Ben winces, limps, misses practice, shakes his throwing hand, etc…I happen to love the kid and think he is borderline great. Should the Steelers win in 2 weeks, it would certainly help the “greatness” claim. Im sure all players will be healthy and ready to go in 2 weeks. This Super Bowl might be one for the ages. Solid Offense versus solid Defense. Coaching staff that knows one another. If the Steelers have their “A” game, it will always beat the Cardinals “A” game.
