Pete Prisco of CBSSportsline.com has come out with his annual list of the Top 50 NFL players, and the Steelers have 3 players on the list, including the number ten overall. Here’s the Steelers on the list:

10. Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Steelers: Two Super Bowl titles in five seasons is amazing. He seems to grow as a passer each season. The game can be won on his right arm, which he showed in the Super Bowl.

15. James Harrison, OLB, Steelers: He’s the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year. He can rush, and he showed in the Super Bowl that he could cover with his pick for a score. He plays a nasty game.

35. Troy Polamalu, S, Steelers: He bounced back from a sub-par 2007 season to have a good 2008 season. He has improved in pass coverage greatly from his early days.

Matt Loede has been in the sports media for over 16 years, with experience covering the MLB, NBA, and NFL. On Sunday’s during football season, you can hear Matt on national networks like Fox Sports Radio, Associated Press, and others. Not sure how they only rank Roethlisberger at 10. Big Ben is easily a top-3 QB. The offensive line was horrible throughout the season, and Ben won a Super Bowl for the team. I can’t think of a QB who accomplished so much offensively without protection.

Not sure how Ben was only ranked 10th among QBs. He is a top-3 QB for certain. He led the team (ok, the defense was awesome, but….) to a Super Bowl season with only a shred of protection from a terrible O-line.

i agree.there always people coming in at Roethlisberger and he takes the hits and the sacks and to be able to go to the superbowl and win, when your offensive line isnt doing anything is a pretty big accomplishment.i dont think ive ever seen any team win a superbowl that didnt have a damn good line.
