Playoff Shot Ends as Ravens Top Raiders

The Steelers season is officially over, as one of the teams the Steelers needed to win, the Oakland Raiders, fell at home to the Baltimore Ravens 21-13. The Steelers needed the Ravens, Broncos, and Jets all to lose after the Houston Texans came back to beat the New England Pats at home 34-27. The setback means that it’s the second time in the past four seasons that after winning the Super Bowl, the team has missed the playoffs the following season. The last time this happened, they went 8-8 after winning Super Bowl XL.

Tough night, watching that criminal Ray Lewis and that Arrogant punk Harbaugh celebrate the playoffs while our Steelers are done.We got what we deserved.I guess.

Tough to be eliminated by the Ravens, but we made our bed.
I’ll enjoy watching the Ravens lose next week, as I’m sure they will.

no ones fault but their own. Inexcusable the teams they lost to. Will be an interesting week or so for the steelers. Let’s see what Tomlin does with the coaching staff and player personnell. We have more time now to sign our own players which is good.

      Classy, Who Dat!
I was gonna pull for the Bungels in the playoffs. Ya know, hoping that they’d represent the division in a classy way.
No surprise, the fans have no class.
      Oh well…go Peyton!

Who goes on to Steelers blogs to bash them when they root for other teams…. Remeber we have 6 rings and the Ravens have 1. They have more convicts than rings. Chances are Ravens and Bengals are one and done this year. Oh and Thomas… The Steelers didnt make the playoffs because we made our own bed and now have to lay in it, not because the Ravens beat up on JaMarcus. The Steelers have their own problems to deal with, but atleast we have the best fans and not have to worry about them being ignorant fair-weather fans that have to kick dirt on other fans when their down. Thats why were called Steeler Nation!

Blah Blah george h. And its so typical of steelers fan to bring up the rings those t aren’t revelant right now. Even the ravens go 1 and done thats still more then u can say. I also wouldn’t be talking about convicts. The steelers have a rapist and a women beater on their team dumbass.

Steelers were hard to figure out this entire season. They seemed on the verge of being unbeatable on the one hand but abismal on the other. Had they been able to put up 4 more points per game, we’d all be gloating how good they are when the reality is there are soooo many holes to plug. I remember being as shocked as anyone about how cavalier Tomlin was last season after the SB win when he stated the O-line was fine because they’d just won the SB. Well, those chickens came home to roost this season. 40-something sacks allowed a season doesn’t cut it. Last year was the same. But this season there was no running game, William Gay had his worst season as a pro, Polamalu injured most of the season, Aaron Smith on IR, can’t make a tackle on the worst special teams coverage in the league, and so on. There were missed tackles everywhere; the list goes on seemingly forever. And just add a conversion here and made tackle there, punt coverage, and suddenly the Steelers add perhaps 3 or more wins and are sitting at 12-4. I don’t know what to make of it. Balance is beautiful – running complements passing and vice versa. This season was pass, pass, pass, and let’s hope they can hang on.

I wouldnt say the team had no running game. Mendy had over 1,000yrds and hardly played in about 3 /4 games. It was the situational running that the team did not perform well in. As for the pass blocking, we all know Ben plays a dangerous game with his decisions to either run or throw it away. Not all sacks are the lines fault. The team had offensive success and defensive let downs. The special teams was horrid from a coverage stand point. There are certainly some holes to be filled and staff to be reevaluated. I would hope the team makes some moved immediately. The firing of the NOT SO special teams coach would be first and it would be today! As for the other bloggers here who want to have their moment, fine. The Steelers dug their own grave and have to watch as some of their rivals play next week. Whatever. It is a What-have-you-done-for-me-lately argument, that this season the Steeler fans cannot win.Again, whatever. To compare lineage with the Ravens and Bengals is quite moot since fans of both know they are not comparable. Believe me, when the Super Bowl is over the standings will remain in that the Steelers will have 6, Ravens will have 1 and the Bengals will have 0.I was hoping that the Ravens and Bengals would represent the division well, but like their over inflated fans, they will be gone in a heartbeat.

Hey mark the ravens have been around for 14 years so of course they don’t have the history the steelers have.
