Where the Steelers Stand: Once again this is not really a huge position of need for the club, that is unless there’s a major offseason injury that may sideline Santonio Holmes or Hines Ward. Those two guys, combined with TE Heath Miller and fellow WR Mike Wallace have given the Steelers their best WR/TE core since the 70’s with Swann and Stallworth. Sure there are some interesting names on this list, such as Vincent Jackson (who the Chargers will resign), Terrell Owens (too much trouble) and Brandon Marshall (WAY too much trouble).

From even the backup standpoint, this position does not concern me to much for the Steelers. Wallace stepped up huge last season, and maybe Limas Sweed will get his head on straight and start to develop into the player the Steelers thought they had drafted. Bottom line, they won’t spend much money on this position if any in free agency.

I cant imagine the Steelers will look for a FA wide out. Sweed is a HUGE question mark, but I cant see them spending money on a 4th or 5th WR. It would have to be an absolute steal or an absolute necessity.Nothing that cant be found with a late pick in April. Between Ward, Holmes and Wallace the team is fine. If they are to find themselves in a bind later in the season, some of these names will still be available.
