Roethlisberger Says “No” to Playing in the Pro Bowl

ESPN reports that Big Ben said ‘nah’ to the Pro Bowl:

Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers was the first Pro Bowl alternate Wednesday to replace New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. But team doctors recommended Roethlisberger turn down the invite until he was fully recovered. Roethlisberger hurt his right shoulder in Pittsburgh’s regular-season finale against the Miami Dolphins but the injury will not require surgery.

I have no problem with this, the Pro Bowl is pretty much a joke at this point, and more players than not it seems like don’t even want to play in the game. How would you feel if a Steeler player suffered a major injury playing in a game that no one watches?

I’m glad that Ben was at least “asked” to go as an alternate. I am also glad he turned it down. Your right Matt, imagine an injury in the most worthless “all star” game of them all? I still cant believe that Ben, Heath Miller, Woodley or Either Homes or Ward were not voted in. Chad Ochostinko was asked as an alternate but not any of the Steeler WR’s? That’s ridiculous!
