Newly acquired CB McFadden gets an extension

Saturday the Steelers got CB Bryant McFadden back from the Arizona Cardinals for a 5th round pick, and today they decided they wanted to keep him around, as the team inked him to a contract extension through the 2012 season. Jason LaCanfora of NFL Network broke the story on his Twitter, stating it’s a two-year extension.

PFT had reports that the two sides were chatting about an extension, as McFadden, who left the Steelers before last season only to get traded back on Saturday, was due to earn a base salary of $4.75 million in 2010. No word as of yet as to how much the Steelers are paying McFadden on the extension.
