Helping out some Steeler Fans

As always at Steelers Gab, we aim to help those in Steeler Nation in need. Over the past few days I have gotten some emails of those out there that need help in a couple areas. The first email comes from Ed, who wants some advice about coming to Pittsburgh in December for his first Steelers Game:

Hi there…I am a Canadian Steeler Fan…Have been since 1971

I am going to my very first EVER Steeler game on the 12th of December.

So my very first live game, very first time in Pittsburgh, very first anything Pittsburgh!

So what should I do when I arrive in Pittsburgh at the airport Saturday at 2pm? I want to max out my whole stay there!

What to do, what to see, who to see and all things Steelers?

I personally would love to meet Lynn Swan and have him autograph my Jersey… (my ultimate Steeler Dream)

Your recommendations and input is valued!

The next comes from a gentleman named Brad, who is hoping someone will help taping Steeler games for him. Here’s his email to the site:

Dear folks at Steelersgab,

I hope it’s not shameless to ask, but we’re willing to risk some shame to see some more Steelers’ games! Is there anyone you guys know who might be interested in serving a metaphorical “cup of cold water” to a couple of missionaries? (The two somewhat-homesick missionaries, in this case, are serving in Europe; a friend of mine teaching in Prague and me, a teacher in a Bible School in Germany). One of the things both of us miss most about serving overseas is not getting football games here. A silly thing, really, but a piece of home!

A few years ago we had friends tape the games and mailed them to Europe for us – it was great, but expensive and slow! Now we’re able to transfer the games directly over the internet (we ensure that they’re in an encrypted site and thus only available to the two of us! I think we’re well within in the spirit of the copyright laws). It’s easy to get the files to us as soon as they’re in a digital format – or, if someone preferred, they could mail a DVD to a friend in Philadelphia, and he could transfer to us. We’d pay any costs incurred! The software we use (filezilla) allows all upload speeds to be fully calendar-programmable so the person’s internet use isn’t affected.

Anyway – we’d LOVE to have someone in Pittsburgh (we’re both Steeler fans!) who could upload Steeler games to us. We catch all the games that are on MNF and SNF, and can usually get the 4:00 p.m. games, but we miss a lot of the 1PM games. We’re probably talking about 4-6 games this season; otherwise we’re covered by our friends in Philly and Boston.

If it doesn’t work out, no problem. But I thought I’d ask!

Blessings,

Again, just trying to spread the word and help others in Steeler Nation, so if anyone would like to help these two out, feel free to email them personally, or leave a comment on the site.
