Goodell Says No Drop Dead Date for Season to be Canned

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports there is no “drop-dead date” drawn up by league officials that would cancel the entire NFL season in the event that the current lockout extends into the regular season, commissioner Roger Goodell told Steelers season ticket holders this afternoon.

In his 17th such conference call held this spring with individual club’s season ticket holders, Goodell said the league and the teams are preparing to conduct a full 2011 football season but also are prepared if the lockout lasts into September or beyond.

“First, our objective is to have a full season, we scheduled a full season, we are planning for a full season and that’s our intent,” Goodell said. “If we’re not capable of doing that we will play as many games as possible and want to finish with the Super Bowl.”

Goodell should be canned, he is single-handedly ruining the NFL.

I am so tired of moronic commissioners like Roger Goodell, Gary Bettman, and Bud Seilig turning their leagues into studio wrestling by bowing to the demands of the media and advertisers.

The media wants every game to be dramatic and go down to the last second so they have interesting stories to write.

Advertisers want every game to be dramatic and go down to the last second so that fans don’t lose interest in the game before their commercial aires.

I’m sick of watching James Harrison and Lamaar Woodley being held on every play just so the opposition quarterback has time to complete passes to keep the game close.

The commissioners are responsible for these actions and need to be replaced and just allow the game to be decided by the players.

And james harrison and lamar woodley aren’t the only guys that get held in the nfl and not get called for it sometimes.
