Steelers Make Six Roster Cuts

The Steelers got their roster to 84 players today, and will need to get rid of a couple more players before the NFL deadline of 4pm on Tuesday.

The team placed rookie running back Baron Batch on the injured-reserve list after suffering a knee injury in training camp. The move means that Batch, the clubs seventh-round draft pick, will not play in 2011.

Gone from the Steelers are tight end Vaughn Charlton, cornerback Kevin Dockery, wide receivers Eric Greenwood and Kenneth Moore and tight end Miguel Chavis, who was put on the waived/injured list. Chavis got hurt in a preseason game against the Falcons Saturday night.
