Classic Video: Steelers Hand 49ers Only 1984 Loss 20-17 in San Francisco

October 14th, 1984 the Steelers at 3-3 marched into Candlestick Park in San Francisco, and took on a 5-0 49ers team heading towards an eventual Super Bowl matchup with Dan Marino and the Dolphins.

The Steelers handed the 49ers their ONLY loss of the entire season, as Gary Anderson kicked a late field goal and the Steelers got a late gift from 49ers kicker Ray Wersching as he missed a game-tying field goal as the Steelers held on for the win.

Below is the final Steelers drive of the game on the original NBC broadcast from that fateful day in 1984. Enjoy some Steelers history, and get ready for Monday night as the Steelers head to San Fran to battle the Niners again.
