Steelers Put CB King On IR; Ink Free Agent CB Malone

Justin King

The Steelers have announced that veteran cornerback Justin King has been placed on injured reserve, and the team has inked undrafted rookie cornerback Nigel Malone.

Malone played college football at Kansas State. He was inked by the Colts, who then released him.

King inked a one-year deal with the black and gold back in January. He was a fourth-round pick of the Rams back in 2008, and came to the team late during the 2012 season due in injuries in the secondary.

The cap hit on King, who won’t play a down in 2013 is up to $715,000. Ouch.
