SteelersGab POW: “BIG BEN” ROETHLISBERGER DOES IT AGAIN

“Big Ben” Roethlisberger has led the Pittsburgh Steelers to 17 victories against the Cleveland Browns. Many of those games were not very competitive. Sunday looked to be a big blowout as well. But the Cleveland Browns made a furious comeback, but with Roethlisberger’s late game magic and his consistent play “Big Ben”  is the Steelers Gab Player of the Week.

Roethlisberger started the game out with a bang. Completing short passes and deep passes as well. Roethlisberger once again displayed his unique ability to spread the football around to different receivers. In this game, Roethlisberger worked successfully with several young players, including second-year receivers Justin Brown,Markus Wheaton, and second year, running back Le’veon Bell. Roethlisberger showed his above average mobility eluding multiple sacks. Roethlisberger has led many forth quarter come backs in his career. This one was different considering the lead that the Pittsburgh Steelers had going into the second half.

Roethlisberger showed his mental toughness by not losing control of the offense when it went through it’s dry spell. More of that will be needed going forward in this long season. Roethlisberger has shown his expanded knowledge working the no huddle offense effectively. If Roethlisberger continues this level of play the Pittsburgh Steelers will no doubt be a playoff team.

It doesn’t matter how good Ben plays on Sunday , if the defense cant stop the opposing offense . If the Cleveland game is any indication , the Steelers still have the same problems they had last year on defense . They cant stop the run and they have no defense for the no huddle offense . As good as Ben and the offense are , they cant be expected to score 30 a game because the defense cant get off the field . Its still early , but they need to get the defense on track soon if they want to have any chance of making the postseason .

Agree. I don’t see all the Tomlin apologists yet!

No excuses, no apologists? Lol, it’s why I pick this site. BB can’t carry this team. Without a strong, disciplined D, the Steelers are doomed to mediocrity this season.
