Colts at Steelers 2014: Breaking Down The Key Matchups In Week 8

Like every football game there are key match-ups to look into, some more intriguing than others, but the Colts at Steelers 2014 week 8 game has plenty to view with interest.

LT  Kelvin Beachum vs OLB Erik Walden:

The Pittsburgh Steelers know all too well about Walden with him being a former player of the 2010-2011 Green Bay Packers Super Bowl team that defeated the Steelers. Walden is a 6’2″, 250-pounder who has shown the ability to play with his hand on the ground and in space. Beachum will have to handle Walden’s quickness and power.

Center Maurkice Pouncey vs NT Josh Chapman:

This is a matchup between one of the games’ best centers vs a very good nose tackle. If the Steelers are to run the ball successfull, Pouncey must dominate this matchup.  Doing so will lead to a more-balanced attack offensively. If Chapman wins this matchup, it will likely force the Steelers to throw the football more than they would like – something Pittsburgh doesn’t need with its receiving corps going through it’s struggles.

CB Brice Mccain vs WR T.Y. Hilton:

McCain may very well be the only cornerback on the Steelers roster who has the quickness and agility to cover Hilton who is not named Taylor. Hilton possesses deep speed and sure hands. McCain played extremely well last Monday night against Pro Bowl receiver Andre Johnson. Hopefully he can build off of that.
