Steelers Fill Two Holes in Free Agency; Ink RB Davis and CB Sensabaugh

The Steelers have a new pair of free agents, two players that could play a solid role in the team as they look to build towards another title run in 2017.

Monday the team announced the addition of running back and kick returner Knile Davis, as well as cornerback Coty Sensabaugh.

Free agency continues, make sure to follow the news which you can find at Skybook NFL lines and news.

First Sensabaugh, still a player with plenty to give at 28 years old, he’s been around, playing with the Tennessee Titans, Los Angeles Rams and New York Giants.

He’s played on the outside the last couple of seasons as well as has had extensive time playing as a nickel back. He’s a player who pointed out his ties with Steelers OL coach Mike Munchak as well as the Titans defense as two reasons he joined the black and gold.

The cornerback has made 29 starts in 72 career games, with two picks to his credit. He started last season as a starter in Tennessee, but was moved to a backup role after two games, released after four, and then went to the Giants for the rest of 2016.

Davis comes aboard after a tenure with the team the Steelers knocked off in the divisional round of the playoffs last season, the Kansas City Chiefs.

He will add a big role for the team, that of kick returner. Last season that role was shifted between a couple players on the team, and it will be nice to see a steady hand at the wheel of the kick return duties.

Davis has a 26.8 average at the kick return spot, and also will be backup Le’Veon Bell in the running back position, something he’s done well in Kansas City.

The Chiefs 3rd round pick in 2013 has 805 career rushing yards with 11 touchdowns to his resume.

“I’ve had 100-yard games in this league. I’ve done well in this league, and I’m prepared for whatever comes in the future,” Davis stated on Monday.

The two become the second and third outside free agents to join the Steelers this offseason, as the team already added wide out Justin Hunter.

Great signs! Congratulations, you won the mediocrity contest with players who might not even be on the roster at the start of the season. Way to improve in the offseason! Way to be average!!!!!!
