Offer to McFarland Off the Table After Failed Physical

It appears that the Steelers will NOT be signing defensive lineman Anthony McFarland, as the Bever County Times is reporting that he failed his physical, and the team has withdrawn their offer to him.  McFarland talked to the team on Tuesday, and was set to sign a deal to join the club.  The D-linemen is a 10-year vet, but missed last season with a knee injury and was let go by the Colts.

What?!? Why is this news not on other sites? The sports radio yesterday said it was a done deal. Othere (internet) sites publicly state that he passed his physical. I just want to know which stories are factual because I think this could be a good (bargain basement) land for the Steelers.

McFarland would have been a waste of salary-cap space. The Steelers were just looking for some depth on the D-Line, but they should do that through the draft. Not in the first round, of course. They should go O-Line all the way.
