Ward Tweaks Hammy; Questionable for Thursday

Hines Ward tweaked his hamstring against Oakland yesterday and is questionable for Pittsburgh’s Week 14 matchup against Cleveland, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Unfortunately for Ward, the Steelers have a short week with their game against the Browns scheduled for Thursday night.

It looks like Tomlin may be starting a few different faces in some areas. Ward will sit because of injury so #14 (Sweed) now takes Wallace’ spot so Wallace can take Ward’s.Also, look for Burnett and or Lewis to play over an injured but quite ineffective Gay. Maybe we see more Hood? More Fox? more Mundy? Personally, with a lost season upon us,I say let the kids play! Lets face it, as bad as the Browns are the regular starters have not exactly turned in great performances against other equally bad teams. Especially on defense. On paper, the Steelers cant lose to the Browns no matter who is playing. On paper, that is.

I refuse to accapt the premise that the season is over. 10-6 and they are in. Tall order yes but i think it can happen. I wouldn’t mind seeing lewis and burnett play in the secondary. They cannot be worse than Gay has been. Burnett dropped a golden chance to stake a claim to more playing time if he catches that pass but i am not going to write him off because of one bad play. Give these kids opportunities. Hood is getting more and more snaps. I don’t think he is goin to be a 10+ sack a year guy but our Dline is not charged with getting sacks. Our linebackers have always gotten the majority of sacks and will continue to do so. We need more consistent pressure though.
