Jeff Reed has a new team

If you haven’t heard, former Steeler kicker Jeff Reed is unemployed no more, as the 49ers have signed him to fill in for the recently-injured Joe Nedney.

Reed was released by the Steelers after missing seven of 22 field goal attempts this season.

“I was a little dejected when it happened and I still kind of have questions about it, but that’s old news now,” Reed told the San Francisco Chronicle.

Questions? All I know is he had not hit a kick between 40 and 49 yards all season, and the new guy (that would be Shaun Suisham), hit four Sunday, including one in OT that won the game in Buffalo.

Sure Jeff, ask all the questions you want, but bottom line is you wore out you welcome in the Steel City.

Matt Loede has been in the sports media for over 16 years, with experience covering the MLB, NBA, and NFL. On Sunday’s during football season, you can hear Matt on national networks like Fox Sports Radio, Associated Press, and others. Born and raised in Cleveland Ohio, Matt studies and talks football inside and out, and is anxious to share his thoughts and comments with readers on a daily basis.
