2016 NFL Draft: Pittsburgh Steelers Select Safety Sean Davis in 2nd Round

The Pittsburgh Steelers have selected safety Sean Davis with the 58th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Davis played at the University of Maryland and had a stellar 2015 campaign.

Davis recorded three interceptions in 2015 and is a true physical athlete. He can play cornerback and safety. The Steelers are going to use him at the strong safety position according to management.

He has an incredible vertical jump for his size, and will fit the Steelers’ defensive scheme quite well. He and Robert Golden will be competing for the starting role.

Stats:

Even though he was projected as a late second-round, early third-round pick, Davis has a lot of promise and could be a talented safety in the NFL. He is very raw but his versatility is a key attribute to watch in 2016.

Jumped for joy when they drafted him. He’s one of the safety’s I wanted especially with Joseph & Neal going in the first.
