Steelers and Ravens Pushed Back…..Again….This Time to Wednesday at 3:40pm

This is getting truly ridiculous.

For the third time in a week, the AFC North matchup between the Steelers and Ravens has been pushed back, this time to a reported 3:40pm kickoff on Wednesday afternoon.

The NFL also has to deal with how they are going to treat the Steelers scheduled December 6th home game against the Washington Football Team.

For now, Adam Schefter reports that game is being moved to Monday with a kickoff of 5pm.

Currently there are three games set for Monday, two of them at 5pm and the scheduled Bills and 49ers game set for 8pm.

Back to Wednesday’s game, the immediate question is why a kickoff of 3:40 in the middle of the afternoon?

The answer according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter is that NBC, who will carry the Steelers and Ravens, already committed to showing the tree lighting at Rockefeller Center that night.

Yes, that’s the insane reason the NFL is being pushed into starting a game before 4pm Wednesday – for the lighting of a Christmas tree.

More names, to the surprise of no one, have popped up as testing positive for covid-19 on the Ravens roster.

Monday the Ravens did take a couple players off the covid-19/reserve list.

Of course taking four players off the list didn’t do much good – as Baltimore added four players BACK to the covid-19/reserve list.

WR Willie Snead
TE Mark Andrews
OLB Matthew Judon
CB Terrell Bonds

Three of the names on the list are big ones, as Snead is a wide out who this season has 28 catches for 379 yards and three scores.

In the first game against the Steelers he had his best game of 2020, with five grabs for 106 yards.

Andrews had 32 yards on three catches in the first meeting, and this season has 454 yards and six touchdowns on 38 catches.

Judon has four sacks in 10 games this season, but missed the first game against the Steelers.

Bonds is on the Ravens Injured Reserve list and hasn’t been a factor in the 2020 season.

Monday the Steelers activated G Kevin Dotson as well as DT Isaiah Buggs from the Reserve/COVID-19 List.

The team inked kicker Matthew Wright to the practice squad and elevated S Antoine Brooks Jr. to the Active/Inactive roster from the practice squad as a COVID-19 replacement.
