Clark Should Get Starting Job Back When Healthy

Sporting News is reporting that safety Ryan Clark is expected to take his starting job from last season right back once he’s 100 percent from having his spleen removed during the middle of last season. Clark will take over for Anthony Smith, who was known last season more for his mouth (remember the Pats game?) than his play. Despite Smith being a big hitter at times, Clark overall is a better player, and the Steelers defense was the best in football when he was in there before his injury. After that, teams were able to pick on Smith, as was evident in that Pats game when he bit more than once on Tom Brady’s play action. Having Clark back and at 100 percent will be a big boost to the defense.
